Don’t Judge Me
What it looked like:
The night started out perfect. It was me, Gene, and Marco at the Lodo’s Bar & Grill in downtown Denver. Everything was going “Great” until I knocked over the girl in the wheelchair. To make matters worse, she was with her friends throwing a bridal shower. Every girl in that party had it out for me. I truly thought they were going to beat me down and leave me for die in the back alley. I was pretty freaked out and felt terrible.
What really happened:
We were hanging out with the girls from the bridal shower and we were taking pictures. While I was taking a picture with Amy (girl in the wheelchair); I was behind her, lightly leaning on the back of her wheelchair waiting for the flash. At that moment, she pushed forward on her wheelchair and she went down. It was fast! I didn’t realize what happened until I saw her laying the floor (I think she was just as shocked as I was). I can feel everyone in Lodo’s stare at me as I try to pick Amy up. The atmosphere was tense and you could tell people were thinking I was some kind of prick. What can I do at that point? I wasn’t about to to explain myself to everyone. So I took the brunt of it and ended up I looking like the asshole who likes to knock over handicap people.
Moral of the story:
Shit Happens!
